Isophorone Diamine (IPDA) is an organic compound in the class known as isocyanates. More specifically, it is an aliphatic diisocyanate. It is produced in relatively small quantities, accounting for (with hexamethylene diisocyanate) only 3.4% of the global diisocyanate market in the year 2000. Isophorone Diamine (IPDA) is a cycloaliphatic amine based curing agent with low viscosity and moderate reactivity.

Applications :

Isophorone Diamine (IPDA) is a cross linker for epoxy resins, building block for polyamides. It is used in epoxy coatings, epoxy adhesives and epoxy composites. This chemical improves the hydrophobicity of epoxy resins with less sensitivity against humidity while film formation.
